From Pharaonic jars and amphorae to Islamic-era ceramics, clay has always been a canvas for both function and beauty.
Today, pottery workshops continue to sustain communities while preserving techniques passed down for generations.
Workshop Description
This workshop offers participants a hands-on introduction to pottery and earthenware. With the guidance of experienced potters, you will:
- Learn about the history of Egyptian pottery, from ancient to modern times.
- Get familiar with clay as a medium, understanding its properties and preparation.
- Practice basic hand-building techniques, such as coiling, pinching, and slab construction.
- Experiment with wheel-throwing under supervision to create simple forms.
- Decorate your piece with traditional patterns and natural finishes.
